If you thought taking piano lessons meant a trek across town think again. Many teachers are taking their musical offerings online. And Edward Weiss, a pianist/composer specializing in ‘new age’ piano has moved onto the world wide web as well.
Mr. Weiss has been teaching his eclectic style of learning how to play piano for over 15 years. When asked why he teaches ‘new age’ piano, Weiss responds:
“New Age music is a very free-flowing and relaxing style of music that many use to unwind after a busy day. But many people also like playing it, as evidenced by the abundance of sheet music sold in this style. My course teaches people how to improvise and simply be at the piano - a quality many of my students really appreciate.”
The course now boasts over 100 piano lessons and offers an online forum where students can communicate with each other and with their instructor.
Weiss teaches students to play a variety of New Age melodies in the course, and gives students the tools and techniques needed to create their own beautiful New Age piano music. Users will quickly find themselves playing the piano the way they’ve always dreamed, with flowing, creative pieces that are a joy to hear. Weiss even offers a free piano lesson, “Summer Morning,” to get users started. Students will also receive a free 342-page book, “Free to be Creative at the Piano.”
The free piano lesson and book can be found at Online Piano Lessons by Quiescence Music.
